Building a Chicken Coop – Part 1

I’m starting to work my way through one of the chicken coop plans I did a review of some time ago. This particular plan is The Compact Chicken Chalet plan that comes with cutting diagrams for all the wood needed.  I’m converting from inches to centimeters since this is what I’m familiar with:

This is all the wood that is needed for the entire coop, except the legs for the coop which I forgot to pick up at the woodyard:

The coop plan recommends letting the legs stand on concrete piers that have been dug into the ground. These are not shown in the picture, and I think I’ll just use concrete slabs instead.

You might be able to see from the picture that the big plywood sheets in the bottom  of the trailer have long grooves in them. This is not according to the plan but this type was on sale and therefore cheaper, but it might give me some problems later on in the project. I figure I can always flip the sheets so that the grooves will be on the inside, since the backside of the sheets doesn’t have grooves, as you can see in this next picture:

Here I have started marking the pieces for cutting.
