Building a Chicken Coop – Part 10
Jul 20 2010In Building a Chicken Coop – Part 7 I began assembling the chicken coop frame and now it’s time to mount the frame on the base:

Each leg of the frame is secured by a metal angle with two screws, one of them going down into the pressure-treated base leg:

The chicken coop plan suggest ‘toe-nailing’ the frame leg to the base, which is cheaper, but I find it more difficult and I already had the metal angles lying around.
The two ends of the frame is kept together with a horizontal brace and with two screws at each end:

In the next part I’ll work on stabilizing the frame.
